The Suffering of The Father, Part #3

Earl Gillespie
The Suffering of The Father

The constant changes in the world's economy, now shaken by major downturns, significantly threaten our personal lifestyle.  Faced with problems of this magnitude, we should seriously consider these economic trends in the light of biblical prophecy.

Revelation, the last book of the Bible, is devoted to prophecy.  John says in Revelation 1:1  The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly {or quickly} come to pass; {especially in the last days} and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:  Revelation 18: describes a dominant system of international trade supported by corrupt political and religious allies whose combined sins "have reached Heaven".   Revelation describes the wrath of an angry God.

Genesis 1:28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.  This verse proclaims the first set of instructions give to mankind.  Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth set the standard for marriage agreements world-wide. The marriage ceremonies might vary in implementation but the guidelines were defined by the Holy scripture.  Today the rite of matrimony has been redefined and the marriage bed has been defiled in the name of political correctness.

The United States of America, that proud nation that was founded upon a strong belief in God is leading the charge to reshape the world religious order.  Schools, courtrooms and even the military are being declared God free zones.  The church, that sacred institution has allowed itself to become partners with the government, thus forming a relationship that Jesus  hated. The great spiritual organizations that once promoted the True Word of God has now sold out, in exchange for the gold and glory, and now walk hand in hand with the world.  Many of God churches are caught up in raising money and glorifying  its leaders.  Are we to assume that God is pleased with the condition of the world?  If he was pleased with the condition of humanity then there would not be any reason for him to preform his strange work.

Psalms 7:11  God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Many learned disputes have arisen as to the meaning of this verse; and it must be confessed that its real importance is not easily determined: without the words written in italics, which are not in the original scrolls, it will read as this, "God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry every day." The question still will be, is this a good rendering? To this question it may be replied, that there is strong evidence for a contrary one. AINSWORTH translates it, "God is a just judge; and God angrily threatens every day." With this corresponds the reading of COVERDALE'S Bible, "God is a righteous judge, and God is ever threatened." In King Edward's Bible, of 1549, the reading is the same. But there is another class of critics who adopt quite a different view of the text, and apparently with much color of argument. BISHOP HORSLEY read the verse, "God is a righteous judge, although he is not angry every day."  It is hard for the pious prelates to wrap their mind around an angry God, yet the judgement of God clearly depicts his angry being stored up.  Revelation 15:7  And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

In the garden of Eden, the devil began his first encounter with man by interpreting what God had said. He reshaped God's message to justify his plan.  Take a closer look at the church of today, all types of schemes are used, not to promote salvation but to extract money from the believers. The selling of favors through the request to plant a seed of faith is a common practice among those who wish to get rich at the expense of the church.  Imagine Jesus saying to his follows plant a seed, give me some money and I will deliver a prophecy from the Father.  How profound. Matthew 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

God always seems to have been concerned about his message being presented in the proper fashion, In Revelation he spoke concerning this condition that has become prevalent today.  Revelation 22:18-19  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Because of God's love He will often withhold his anger when his creation sin against him, thereby giving them a chance to repent.  Because of his seemly inactivity, humanity has been known to lie about God.  False claims are made and the Word of God  is used for unholy purposes.

In the late '60s many ministers were put out of their denomination after being accused of embezzlement and pedophilia and other crimes against God's Holy Word only to resurface as tithe-hustling faith healers and prosperity preacher.  Father Michel, a character he cut from the cloth of Father Divine and Samuel "Father Jehovah" Morris, gaudy African-American ministers of the early 20th century who identified themselves as God.  These Rev Ike and Jim Jone types ushered in an ethnic-type of an apostate religion that  place a greater focus on the accumulation of worldly goods.  Criticism of the type of ministry was held in check by quoting scriptures such as 1 Chronicles 16:22  Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.  This shield became a part of the spiritual indoctriction that produced a group of people who was afraid to testify against ministers who was acting badly.  God was not pleased during that era and his anger is still building.

The finalization of God's suffering and his anger is profiled in the book of Revelation, but the God that humanity has created today does not allow for the anger of God to manifest itself, therefore the Book of Revelation is discarded.  God is a God of love who plots the course of humanity to ensure that all things on earth works out in the best interest of humanity.  The trivilization of God's name does not invite people to believe in God, rather those who consents speak of what God is doing cause those who are suffering to run from God or to enter a state of ultimate confusion.   The homeless man who needs food is not impressed by the testimony of a well fed person speaking of how God put food on their table.   The mother who lost her child in a fire is ill at ease when the pious proclaim without explanation, that all things work together for good.  God is not pleased when we misuse his word to advance our status.

In committing to writing the revelation that Jesus Christ gave him concerning this political, religious and commercial system, the apostle John first connects us with this evil system's spiritual roots.  According to the Bible, an unseen spirit being, a fallen angel call Satan the devil, rules the earth behind the scenes.  God's creation allowed this malevolent spirit to invade his consciousness and God is angry.  The devil is angry because he knows that his time is about to expire.
